The Favorite collection was produced in collaboration with artist Emily Miller -- a run of nightgowns, boxer shorts and accessories. From scribbled lists of our favorite things, Emily hand drew them to create a pattern. Together, with the help of my husband, we screenprinted the design onto yards of fabric in her home studio. From there, the garments were patterned, cut, and sewn by me. It was so rewarding to work with an artist I deeply admire, and to create a garment of my own design and participate in all the steps along the way. A truly personal project, and wonderful to see it enjoyed and worn. Read more about the process here.
Loyal Stricklin is Nashville based menswear brand specializing in denim and leather goods. I was fortunate to be employed as a seamstress with the brand in 2024 and 2025. While there I was able to contribute the growth of their garment line, helping to pattern, test and develop new pant and outerwear styles. Working with high quality denims and waxed canvases, and utilizing many machines (6 different machines for a standard pair of work trousers!), I expanded my manufacturing skillset. I was also able to dip my toes into the leather work, making small goods such as wallets and pouches. The founder and designer, Michael Stricklin, prizes great materials and quality craftsmanship, making Loyal Stricklin an excellent source for timeless leather goods (like this incredibly beautiful duffle bag), selvedge denim pieces, and more.
Elizabeth Suzann is a pioneering slow fashion womenswear brand known for beautiful, functional pieces in sumptous natural fiber fabrics. I worked in their Nashville factory in 2019 and 2020, where there commitment to responsible sourcing and labor were formative in the developement of my values centered approach to sewing and fashion. As my first production sewing job, I gained solid groundwork of skill, balancing accuracy and efficency. I am still sewing for Liz (the founder and designer) today, doing small batch manufacturing of pre-cut garments in my home studio.
Natalie Busby is a womenswear brand focused on modern and stylish garments that feel as good as they look-- elevated basics in comfortable natural fiber fabrics with beautiful drape. Betwen 2023 and 2025, while living in Nashville where the brand is based, I worked as a sample maker, sewing garments to test fabric and fit as well as to photograph for campaigns. This was a very fun role for me, sewing many different styles, typically just a few of each. It honed my ability to understand patterns, and ensure a high quality piece on the first occassion of making it. The designer, Natalie, and I were also able to work together to utilize scraps made in her manufacturing process; off cuts of beautiful silk were saved and made by me into small runs of boxer shorts and scented eye pillows.
